Usitng the Step Thread technology, the Step Clamp can be rapidly advanced or retracted to quickly adjust the clamp to the size of the workpiece. Then with a flip of a switch, the Step Clamp can be changed to the continuous threading mode for clamping.
The Step Clamp's rapid adjustment feature is enabled when a step-thread rod is engaged through two or more synchronized step-threaded couplings:
The Step Thread technology also includes internally- and externally-threaded step-thread components which, when combined with conventionally-threaded components, work together to provide a fastener which can be quickly assembled or disassembled before and after a tightening operation. The combination of step threads and conventional threads can also provide a fastener designed to strip well below the shear force required to strip purely coventionally-threaded fasteners.
